Gallery Wild is the newest fine art gallery in Jackson Hole! Recently opened in July of 2018, Gallery Wild showcases fine art inspired by wildlife, wild open spaces and conservation. Owned and operated by Jackson Hole based wildlife painter Carrie Wild and her husband, wildlife photographer Jason Williams, Gallery Wild's works and philosophy are inspired by and directly impacted by thousands of hours in the field observing, studying and falling in love with all things wild. From the smallest bird to the biggest polar bear, Gallery Wild artists produce work inspired by actual subjects, roaming the wild and making all of our lives richer. Our mission is to inspire our collectors and impassion others to help protect wildlife and wild places for future generations. 

About Carrie: 

Carrie was raised on a small horse farm in Southern Michigan where she learned to respect, appreciate and love animals from a young age. Her childhood was spent riding horses, exploring the forests in search of wildlife and competing in horse shows. Along with her love of nature she developed a passion for art early in life. She studied and experimented drawing with different dry mediums including graphite, charcoal, colored pencil and soft pastel. Through her knowledge of horses and wildlife she developed a strong drawing technique focusing on the the anatomy and characteristics of each subject.

As a teen Carrie bought her first camera and began making photographs of her subjects as a foundation for her artistic vision. She uses her photography for inspiration as well as an excuse to spend more time in the field with the animals she loves. As witness to the wonders of nature and the countless heart pounding moments, she translates her experiences through the application of dramatic colors and presence in her paintings while maintaining realistic confirmation of the animal. With a contemporary style she hopes to create a relationship between the painting and its viewer as well as encourage a love for wildlife and wildlife art in modern design.
Carrie is based in Jackson, Wyoming. After visiting for a summer, she immediately fell in love with the power of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and decided that there was no better place to be to realize her vision. Surrounded by the inspiration of wildlife, horses and wide open spaces she paints in her home studio at the edge of Grand Teton National Park.

About Jason: 

Jason moved to Jackson Hole in 1999 to be a river guide on the Snake River. He immediately fell in love with the place and began working the winters as a snowmobile guide in Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding forest. It was through all his time in the field that Jason realized it was time to jump into photography full time. He founded Jason Williams Photography in 2005 has been a professional wildlife photographer and freelance writer since then.  Jason is also the founder and CEO of Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris and has been guiding wildlife and photography safaris, snowmobile trips, scenic floats and whitewater river trips throughout the greater Yellowstone ecosystem for over 18 years. His field of experience includes scuba diving, caving, rock climbing, backpacking, backcountry skiing, canoeing, sailing, snowmobiling, and whitewater rafting. 

Jason's work has been published in dozens of international, national and regional publications including the Washington Post, Powder Magazine, Western Art and Architecture, BC Business, Frommer’s, Plain and Valley, Teton Journal and Jackson Hole Explorer magazine.
